Triathlon: The Fastest Growing Sport
Triathlon is the fastest growing sport in cycling. In fact, the triathlon, the sport has increased by 15% last year, when the motorcycle business as a whole did not. I believe there are good reasons for this. I started biking for transportation, the liquidation of the race, and now drive fast for fun. I have the opportunity to see a different perspective, how the steep learning curve for bicycle racing rather than triathlon. What is funny, I think the learning curve of mastering three sports is higher than that of cycling, but there is a word that outweighs the learning curve when it comes to acquire new entrants to the sport and this word is, of inclusion.
Brutally competitive cycling is a difficult sport. By design, you find a way to make your competitor do all the work and you sprint around and hit him. Each part of a bicycle race is on the lookout for an attack, or one is about to mount one. It takes a lot of rejection by peers, who are best in the sport and, of course, the sense of hopelessness that occurs when we are “fallen” to get over the hump and start to “hang” . This is an exclusive environment and no wonder people describe as Elitist Coureurs bike. The mind games that happen in a platoon are difficult when we know what is happening and even more difficult when you are learning.
Triathletes on the other hand, are quite gregarious and want to get everyone on the swim, bike, run “bandwagon. They somehow manage their train schedules and countless hours, but still seemed to keep inviting and encouraging others to join them. If a race category 5 is a mixture of people who do not know how the race or even rise, mixed with fine athletes who are ahead in the sport, a triathlon is much better at all levels in support of ‘athlete at the same time. Only one of the courses themselves and the clock. Everybody wins. While the “building” elements of a grueling sport exist but they are acceptable and the people, the challenge.
When I ran the bike, the sport of triathlon was in its infancy. I did not know much and over the years have acquired a huge respect for people that are in place at 4h00 AM to swim, then a day’s work, then do a race or a ride. Incredible!
From a commercial point of view, I discovered that the things I learned about the test facility for the time cyclists, road, mountain and follow directly applied, with one exception. I found that triathletes Riding the improper installation on their bike Subi twice! First, the journey is painful legs, with people having to sit because the AEROBAR are too uncomfortable. Secondly, the transition to the descent is painful because the muscles are used disproportionately.
Triathlon bikes are very sexy looking. I find, however, that the less aerodynamic part of a tri bike is the rider and the power of reason will prevail on the aerodynamics. Consider the installation of your bike and ask these questions. Are you comfortable throughout the event? Are you stiff and difficult time of transition from the race? Have you placed emphasis both on the bike that you can run or swim? What happens to your time if you do have a bike focused and perhaps even a change of bike?
Another topic is interesting to add to this article, and it is the old question: “Should I have a road bike and a tri bike?” My view is, you run at the speed of Riders , swimming with the swimmers and should be quick Riding a road bike with rapid cycling. Even if you do draft a triathlon in May, the fact that you are comfortable being more than 30 miles to the hours of a game will result in much more comfort during your time trial pace. You’ll have a greater range of speeds and can better take advantage of terrain and curves of the road. In addition, you can roll smoothly and in a straight line which we all know, is the shortest distance between two points. So, a good road bike is important. A good tri bike that fits is a tool that can make a huge difference in the exercise and enjoyment of a triathlon, not surprising that many are proud of triathletes has a beautiful machine test of time.
